THE REALITY
Extreme Poverty
Sierra Leone is recognised as one of the poorest countries in the world, with an estimated 80% of the population unemployed. Access to reliable electricity and clean water is limited, and healthcare, hygiene, and education systems remain under immense strain.
At the centre of the country is Freetown, a city of over two million people. Despite its rich cultural and ethnic diversity, many communities face daily challenges just to meet basic needs.
Ebola Crisis
In 2014, the outbreak of the Ebola virus devastated Sierra Leone and neighbouring countries. Thousands of lives were lost, and countless children were left orphaned. While some were taken in by extended family, many were forced onto the streets, left without stability, education, or support.
After years of working directly with orphaned and vulnerable children, Paradise 4 Kids recognised a deeper issue, not just providing immediate care, but creating long-term stability.

In 2008, Reverend Themi began his mission in Sierra Leone, choosing to serve in one of the world’s most vulnerable regions. What started as a single act of faith has grown into a life-changing network of support for children, families, and entire communities.
This mission is a long-term commitment to rebuilding lives through education, healthcare, and community development, creating opportunities that extend far beyond immediate aid.

The Waterloo compound is a central hub for education, care, and community support, providing a safe and structured environment for 32 in-house orphans and over 800 children attending school programs. With the upcoming secondary school development, this site is evolving into a complete, self-sustaining community supporting up to 1500 students.

The mission operates 3 dining, feeding, and recreational halls, providing safe spaces for children and families to gather, eat, and receive support. These spaces play a critical role in daily life, supporting those who are most vulnerable, including the young, the hungry, and the forgotten.

The mission has built and supports a full education system in Sierra Leone, including 2 kindergartens, 3 primary schools, and a teachers college, providing structured learning for 2000+ students. Over 1000 children attend free of charge, receiving not just education, but meals, uniforms, and essential supplies that make attendance possible.

Through 3 local medical clinics, the mission provides access to doctors, nurses, and essential treatment for communities with no access to healthcare. This support improves immediate health outcomes while providing ongoing care for families in need.
